Extensive damages and theft reported at KP House amid political tensions

PESHAWAR: A joint report by the Communications and Works Department has unveiled significant losses at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in Islamabad.

The assessment details the disappearance of furniture valued at Rs 1 million, digital video recorders, cameras, and laptops worth Rs 1.5 million, and Rs 600,000 in cash.

Additionally, licensed firearms, mobile phones, and other items totaling Rs 6.4 million have gone missing.

Cash belonging to Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) and police personnel, amounting to over Rs 1.6 million, is also unaccounted for. Notably, several personal belongings of the Chief Minister are reported missing.

The report estimates that renovating the KP House will require approximately Rs 9.693 million.

These findings follow the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) action of sealing various blocks of the KP House in Islamabad after protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the capital.
