Ariana Grande brought Glinda’s magic to life at the Wicked premiere in Sydney, dazzling in a pink Vivienne Westwood ballgown and over 100 carats of diamonds. Grande, 31, joined her castmates at the event on Sunday, wearing a puffed-sleeve gown inspired by Billie Burke’s Glinda from The Wizard of Oz (1939), adding her own ethereal twist.
The singer’s accessories amplified her Glinda transformation. Custom jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz, including a 90-carat butterfly choker, earrings, and rings, added extra sparkle to her look. “The butterfly was ethereal. We thought it was perfect,” Schwartz told Page Six Style. Grande also wore a delicate butterfly ring on her left hand and completed her look with pink makeup from her R.E.M. Beauty x Wicked Galinda Makeup Set.
Grande shared her joy with Vogue Australia, saying, “I think what I love most about this press tour is…spending a little more time with Galinda.” She expressed admiration for her gown’s thoughtful design, noting that the starburst embellishments on the sleeves and corset were inspired by Glinda’s wand.
Her co-star Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba, contrasted Grande’s delicate look with a dramatic black Louis Vuitton gown, Roberto Coin jewelry, and a green manicure. As the first installment of Wicked premieres on November 21, fans eagerly await more Oz-inspired fashion from this iconic duo.
