GWADAR: Hundreds of people involved in informal border business gathered for a meeting, expressing deep concerns over new laws and frequent border closures that have crippled economic activities in the area.
MPA Gwadar Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman attended the meeting, lending support to the community’s demands.
The participants protested against the Nobat system at border points, calling for its abolition, issuance of RFID cards, and three weekly holidays. They emphasized the need for free employment on ID cards at the border and unrestricted business operations. The community warned of strong protests if their demands aren’t met.
