“Jennifer Lopez’s Sister Lynda Visits Violet Affleck at Yale Following Divorce Filing from Ben Affleck”

Lynda Lopez, Jennifer Lopez’s sister, recently visited her step-niece, Violet Affleck, at Yale University, taking time to connect amid Jennifer’s divorce from Ben Affleck. On Sunday, November 3, the journalist, 53, shared heartwarming snapshots on Instagram from her visit with Violet, 18, who sported a white Patagonia puffer as they smiled together for a selfie. Lynda placed a hand on Violet’s shoulder, with additional photos capturing the scenic fall foliage around campus. “New Haven with my favorite Yalie! 💙,” she captioned the post.

This visit comes after Jennifer Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, 52, in Los Angeles County Superior Court in August, citing April 26, 2024, as their date of separation. A source previously told PEOPLE that, despite the split, both Jennifer and Ben remain focused on prioritizing their children. “She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken,” the source shared. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

Jennifer has shared a close bond with Violet, often spending quality time together. In July, the two were seen biking in the Hamptons and enjoying a day in Southampton, showing a strong connection despite tensions in Jennifer’s marriage with Ben. According to an insider, “They both seem so happy to be spending this time together and are just enjoying the moment.”

In an Instagram Story earlier that month, Jennifer posted a video of a summer car ride with Violet and her friend Cassidey Fralin. With “Girls” by Kid LAROI playing in the background, the video captured a light-hearted moment, showing Jennifer smiling from the front seat while Violet enjoyed the view from the back.
