Salman Khan receives fresh extortion threat from Bishnoi Gang

MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received a new death threat, along with a demand for Rs 5 crore, from the brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, believed to be frontman of Indian Home Minister Amit Shah.

Officials reported on Tuesday that the message was sent late Monday night to the Mumbai traffic police control room in Worli.

The sender of the threat warned that if Khan wishes to remain safe, he should either apologize to the Bishnoi community at their temple, or pay the demanded amount. The sender added, “If he does not do so, we will kill him; our gang is still active.”

Upon receiving the message, an alert on-duty officer immediately informed senior police officials and the Worli police station.

This latest incident adds to a troubling pattern of threats the actor has faced in recent months. On October 29, a man issued a similar threat targeting both Khan and Maharashtra NCP leader Zeeshan Siddique, demanding Rs 2 crore. The message, sent to the traffic police WhatsApp helpline, warned both individuals they could meet the same fate as Zeeshan Siddique’s father, former state minister Baba Siddique, who was killed in Bandra on October 12.

Last month, Khan was also targeted by a threat from a man in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, demanding Rs 5 crore.

The Bishnoi gang has previously been linked to threats against actor Salman Khan, with suspected members reportedly firing shots outside his Bandra home in April. The group has also been associated with violent incidents involving Sikh activists, including cases of murder and attempted murder, in the US and Canada.
