Jennifer Lopez Dodges Ben Affleck Question at U.K. Premiere, Despite His Recent Praise

Jennifer Lopez skillfully sidestepped a question about her estranged husband, Ben Affleck, while promoting their upcoming film Unstoppable at its U.K. premiere on Monday.

During the event, a red carpet reporter asked Lopez how she felt about Affleck’s recent compliment, where he called her “spectacular” in an Entertainment Tonight interview. Lopez, 55, smiled at the mention of the praise but tactfully shifted her response to include everyone involved in the project, saying, “The entire cast and everybody behind the scenes was spectacular and wonderful,” without specifically addressing Affleck.

The pair, who filed for divorce in August after two years of marriage, have mostly remained quiet about the split. However, Affleck’s recent remarks focused on his admiration for Lopez’s performance in Unstoppable. “Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer and Don Cheadle and Jharrel [Jerome], and Bobby Cannavale, all were really passionate about this film,” he noted. “Jennifer is spectacular.”

Lopez has spoken more openly about her personal struggles since the split, revealing in a recent Interview magazine story that the end of her marriage felt like being “hit … really hard over the head with a f–king sledgehammer.” Despite the emotional toll, she expressed feeling renewed and “excited” to be single, adding, “Now, on the other side of it, I think to myself, ‘F–k, that is exactly what I needed.”

While Lopez has been married three times, sharing 16-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, Affleck also has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. The two have remained committed co-parents since their split in 2018.
