Jennifer Lopez Reveals Holiday Plans and Focus on Family After ‘Intense Year’ Following Ben Affleck Divorce

Jennifer Lopez is ready to embrace the holidays and a fresh start after what she describes as an “intense year,” following her divorce from Ben Affleck in August. The multi-talented star shared her excitement for the season in a recent interview with People, saying she’s looking forward to spending quality time with her family and kids.

“For me, the holidays have always been a special time,” Lopez, 55, said. “This year, I’m especially eager to have my family from the East Coast come to visit, to just relax and enjoy creating new memories.” With her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, from her previous marriage to Marc Anthony, and sisters Leslie and Lynda Lopez joining, the gatherings are a cherished opportunity to reconnect.

Lopez reflected on how the season allows her to unwind amidst a busy schedule. “It’s a time to slow down and appreciate being with loved ones,” she added. “It’s just beautiful catching up and enjoying those moments.”

Known for her festive spirit, Lopez admitted she’s a “sucker for the holidays,” explaining, “I love going all out with the decorations, hot chocolate, music, and food. I try to create a storybook experience for my kids every year.”

Looking ahead, Lopez shared her goals for the new year, saying she’s focused on a “deeper connection” with herself and her faith. After putting her “This Is Me… Live” concert tour on hold in May, she’s prioritizing personal growth and pushing her creative boundaries. “I’m setting my sights on evolving creatively, whether it’s through acting, music, producing, or expanding JLo Beauty,” she said.

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, on their second wedding anniversary after two years of marriage. The couple, who rekindled their relationship in 2021 nearly two decades after their initial engagement, share a blended family with Affleck’s three children — Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel — from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner.
