LAHORE: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore on Friday granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in four May 9 riots related case.
ATC Judge Arshad Javed presided over the hearing of the bail pleas filed by former premier and PTI founder Imran Khan.
The court, however, disposed of the plea by PTI founder’s lawyer Salman Safdar seeking more time for arguments. Judge Arshad Javed disposed of the plea, saying that the lawyers were given ample time to argue but they did not comply with the order within the due time and asked Punjab Prosecutor general to start his arguments.
In his argument, the Punjab prosecutor general accused the PTI founder of urging the PTI followers to attack military installations “if he would be arrested.”
The court reserved the verdict after hearing arguments from Shah.
Following this, the court delivered its verdict, accepting Imran Khan’s bail in the four cases, which included the burning of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) office. The bail was granted in exchange for a bond of Rs 550,000.
Earlier today, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Friday once again deferred the indictment of former prime minister Imran Khan and others accused in the case related to the attack on GHQ Rawalpindi during the unrest on May 9.
