ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan on Thursday underscored India’s escalated hybrid warfare tactics against Pakistan, citing a recent report by the Kashmir Media Service (KMS) titled “Hybrid War Against Pakistan.”
The report details a multifront approach by India involving disinformation, terrorism support, and global reputation damage, aiming to destabilize Pakistan.
The report reveals India’s widespread disinformation network, allegedly using state resources to disseminate fake news labeling Pakistan as a supporter of terrorism. Investigations referenced in the report, including those by EU DisinfoLab, have exposed an extensive network of fake media outlets and NGOs across nearly 65 countries, all aimed at shaping international opinion against Pakistan, particularly concerning the Kashmir issue.
KMS highlights corroborating findings from BBC and Al Jazeera, which indicate that India’s misinformation efforts seek to criminalize the legitimate Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, as outlined by the UN Charter. The network, reportedly comprising fake news sites, targets policymakers in the EU and UN to spread anti-Pakistan narratives and discredit Kashmiri self-determination efforts.
The report also accuses Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration of employing fascist tactics in its hybrid warfare strategy. Emphasizing resilience, KMS asserts that Pakistanis and Kashmiris are unified in countering these strategies and urges the global community to acknowledge and address India’s information warfare against Pakistan.
