LAHORE: Former first lady Bushra Bibi on Friday denied reports about her involvement in political activities and impending entry in politics.
Her spokesperson, Mashal Yousafzai, issued a statement refuting all such claims.
Speaking to a private news channel, Yousafzai clarified that Bibi is solely focused on securing her husband’s release and remains apolitical. Yousafzai explicitly stated that reports of Bibi’s political entry are baseless.
However, conflicting reports emerged from within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Sources within the PTI allege that Bibi met with party leadership on November 13, to discuss strategies for a planned protest on November 24 and to form teams for preparations.
These sources further claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is assisting Bibi in political matters and that he has been tasked with finalising party leadership in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
