ISLAMABAD: Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko is set to arrive in Islamabad on November 25, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The visit is aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new areas of cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus. During his stay, the two countries are expected to sign the Pakistan-Belarus Trade Roadmap, which will outline future economic and trade collaborations.
President Lukashenko is scheduled to meet with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Pakistan’s military leadership. Discussions will cover various sectors including modern farming techniques, trade enhancement, and strengthening security and defense relations. Pakistan has expressed a keen interest in Belarus’s expertise in agricultural machinery, particularly in the tractor manufacturing sector.
Several agreements are expected to be finalized during the visit, marking a significant step in solidifying economic and strategic ties between the two nations. The visit is viewed as an important milestone in deepening Pakistan-Belarus relations.
Earlier in October, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko discussed ways to strengthen military and defense cooperation between the two countries. General Munir acknowledged Belarus’s contribution to regional and global peace and expressed Pakistan’s desire to enhance military collaboration in the future.
