Charli XCX brought laughs and star power to Saturday Night Live on November 16, 2024, with a hilarious impersonation of Adele during a sketch. Appearing as both host and musical guest, Charli showcased her comedic chops by playing Adele auditioning for a musical adaptation of Wicked, a movie starring Ariana Grande.
In the sketch, the Speed Drive singer wore a black velvet dress reminiscent of one of Adele’s iconic Las Vegas concert looks. Staring directly into the camera, Charli quipped, “Hello, can I take my shoes off? Okay, Wicked. Oh my God, I said the name of the bloody movie! Shut up, that’s f***ing funny.”
The comedic moment was part of a segment featuring SNL cast members impersonating celebrities auditioning for roles in the musical. Charli shared highlights from the sketch on her Instagram, delighting fans with her playful take on Adele.
Charli was on SNL promoting her upcoming sixth studio album, Brat. During the show, she said, “You might know me from my album Brat, but, don’t worry if you don’t. There is nothing wrong with being straight.”
