NDMA sends 19th aid shipment of relief supplies to Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria

ISLAMABAD: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has dispatched its 19th shipment of humanitarian aid to Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria, containing 17 tons of essential supplies, including tents, food, milk, clothing, and hygiene kits, in collaboration with the Al-Khidmat Foundation.

The shipment, which includes rice buckets, powdered milk, canned food, family packs, sleeping bags, and medical kits, was sent under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. A chartered flight carrying the supplies departed from Jinnah International Airport in Karachi to Damascus, Syria.

The send-off ceremony at the airport was attended by MPA Ali Khursheedi, Senator Amir Waliuddin Chishti, senior NDMA officials, and Al-Khidmat Foundation representatives. MPA Khursheedi emphasized the urgent need for relief amid the ongoing conflicts in these regions, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to supporting those affected by war. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation between welfare organizations and the public in these efforts.

This 19th shipment is focused on Syria and refugees from Lebanon. Prior to this, Pakistan sent 12 aid consignments to Palestine and six shipments to Lebanon, totaling 1,722 tons of relief supplies. The Government of Pakistan remains committed to addressing the needs of war-affected populations in Lebanon and Palestine.

In addition, a special “Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Gaza and Lebanon” has been established to collect public donations to support those impacted by the ongoing conflicts in these regions.
