PTI slams govt’s plans to block mobile, internet ahead of Nov 24 march

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram on Thursday vehemently denounced the Sharif family’s courtiers for threatening to brutally suppress PTI’s peaceful marchers and the government’s plan to suspend mobile and internet services in various parts of Pakistan ahead of the scheduled march.

Akram strongly condemned the mandate-thief government for using colonial-era tactics to quash opposition and silence dissent through intimidation and suppression.

He emphasized that instead of suspending mobile and internet services, the unrepresentative government should confront the harsh reality that the people have lost patience with their self-serving politics of exploitation and corruption.

He also emphasized that instead of activating a firewall for mobile internet services, the government should focus on combating terrorism, which has seen a disturbing rise due to the ruling party’s misplaced priorities.

However, he made it clear that despite all these measures, a sea of people would converge on Islamabad on November 24 on the call of their beloved leader Imran Khan to free Pakistan from the clutches of the rejected puppets come what may.

The  vowed that threats and intimidations would not work anymore, as the people were fed up with the crooked ruling junta and they would march on Islamabad in massive numbers to reclaim their stolen mandate from the mandate thieves.

Lashing out at Uzma Bukhari for equating PTI’s supporters with members of banned outfits, he advised her to spare some time to study the Sharif family’s history, which is marked by long-standing ties to proscribed organizations.

The Central Information Secretary recalled that Nawaz Sharif’s reputation was tarnished by the stigma of doing politics with Osama bin Laden’s money, while people still remember his younger brother Cherry Blossom’s plea to the Taliban to spare Punjab and limit their terrorist attacks to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

However, he noted that the issue with General Zia and General Gillani’s loyalists and their associates was their inability to learn from past mistakes, largely due to their limited capacity for introspection and intellectual growth.

He cautioned that chatterbox ministers should recognize that they could not intimidate peaceful marchers, as the law guaranteed the fundamental right to peaceful protest; hence the march would proceed as planned.

He stated that the mandate-stealing Punjab government was severely terrified and panicked due to the public outcry demanding the return of their stolen mandate, which was clearly evident from the growing frustration of the courtiers’ press conferences.

Akram urged the courtiers to understand that the real owners of authority in the state were not its puppets, but the people, who would come in large numbers on November 24 to save the country from “the rejected puppets”.

It may be noted here that incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has issued significant instructions for the party leadership and supporters ahead of the November 24 protest, describing the day as a “decisive moment for the party’s future”.

According to a statement shared on PTI’s social media account, the founder was quoted saying that the protest on November 24 will determine the fate of party members.

“This will be a decisive day, when it will be decided who will remain in my party and who will not,” the statement read, quoting Imran Khan.

PTI’s leadership is urging supporters to take part in large convoys that will travel along major roads, documenting the event through detailed video footage. The videos should not only capture the vehicles involved but also the people accompanying them, PTI’s social media team emphasised.
