PTI advisor decries alleged firing on convoys, accuses govt of plotting

PESHAWAR: Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Advisor, has strongly condemned the alleged direct firing on PTI convoys from Sindh and Balochistan, labeling it as an “unjustifiable” act of violence.

In a statement issued from Peshawar, Saif denounced the current PML-N government’s tactics to suppress dissent, accusing it of extreme measures to cling to power.

Saif criticized the government’s response as a reflection of its “panic,” alleging that the ruling establishment, including “uncles and nieces,” was actively working to preserve a “fake empire.” He claimed that plans were also in place to target peaceful protestors in Punjab, further escalating tensions.

Describing the government as “deranged,” Saif accused it of transforming Pakistan into a “containeristan” by using physical barriers such as containers and trenches to hinder public movement and suppress peaceful protests. He expressed particular concern over containers covered with green cloth at D-Chowk, suggesting they were part of a plot to discredit PTI through the creation of a fake video.

Additionally, Saif criticized the government’s decision to enforce a nationwide shutdown for a week, which he argued was aimed at preventing peaceful protests. He highlighted the severe impact this shutdown has had on emergency services, with blocked routes causing delays for ambulances and resulting in multiple reported deaths, including those of children and pregnant women, due to delayed hospital arrivals.

The PTI Information Advisor called on the public to remain vigilant against what he described as the “nefarious intentions” of the government and urged for an immediate end to the current oppressive measures. This statement adds to the intensifying political discourse in Pakistan, with PTI continuing to challenge the ruling coalition’s approach to handling protests and ensuring public safety.
