Angelina Jolie and her 19-year-old daughter Zahara Jolie dazzled at the 2025 Golden Globes on January 5, delivering another memorable mother-daughter red carpet moment.
The 49-year-old actress, nominated for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Maria, wore a stunning beaded Alexander McQueen gown featuring sheer panels and all-over crystals. She debuted new bangs and kept her makeup understated, letting her dramatic dress take center stage. Zahara complemented her mom in a white gown with a striking black tree-like pattern, pairing it with swept-back hair for an elegant look.
This marks Angelina’s ninth Golden Globe nomination, having previously won three consecutive times from 1998 to 2000 for George Wallace, Gia, and Girl, Interrupted.
Jolie’s Journey to Becoming Maria Callas
In an interview with Good Morning America, Angelina shared insights into her transformation into the opera icon Maria Callas, a role that required seven months of vocal training. Reflecting on her lessons, she described them as “therapy,” explaining how unlocking her voice helped her confront emotions held within her body. “My first lesson, I took a deep breath and just cried,” she admitted.
The film, directed by Pablo LarraÃn (Jackie), blends Angelina’s voice with real recordings of Callas, adding depth to her portrayal.
Glamorous Red Carpet Appearances
Angelina has been turning heads this awards season. At the Palm Springs International Film Awards on January 3, she and Zahara attended as Jolie received the Desert Palm Achievement Award. Angelina opted for a sleek black gown with a halter neck, while Zahara contrasted with a white gown.
The event marked Angelina’s first major outing since finalizing her divorce from Brad Pitt. Her godmother, Jacqueline Bisset, presented the award, celebrating Jolie’s “extraordinary portrayal” of Maria Callas.
