A barking crisis

The increasing number of stray dogs, many appearing rabid, is posing a grave threat to public safety in many parts of Islamabad and areas adjacent to the federal capital. The dogs have attacked several people, particularly children and the elderly, raising serious concerns.

My father was injured and his collar- bone was broken when a stray dog bit him while he was riding a motorcycle. Despite multiple complaints, no significant action has been taken to address the issue. This is creating an environment of fear and insecurity in the area.

The relevant authorities should take immediate and effective action in this regard. Controlling the population of stray dogs, and ensuring their vaccination are crucial to avoid any further harm to the people. The issue needs to be prioritised for the safety and wellbeing of the people.
