Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq warned India on Thursday against any attempt at cross-border aggression, emphasizing that Pakistan would respond decisively if provoked. Speaking in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Haq asserted, “India does not have the courage to violate Pakistan’s borders, but if it does, a strong response awaits.”
Haq accused India of following the Chanakya doctrine—described as “a dagger in the cloak of diplomacy”—and dismissed India’s narrative regarding the recent Pahalgam incident, calling it a fabrication.
The prime minister further warned that India could attempt to destabilize Azad Kashmir by using a third party. “If India tries such an adventure, it will receive a fitting reply,” Haq said.
He also criticized India’s water aggression, alleging that it has been ongoing for over a year and that India’s international involvement in terrorism is well-documented. “From Canada to Kashmir, Modi’s India has adopted terrorism as a state policy,” he stated.
Defending Pakistan’s military role, Haq reiterated that the support of Pakistan’s armed forces strengthens the region’s independence. “The freedoms we enjoy in Azad Kashmir are absent in Indian-occupied Kashmir. I stand with our brothers and sisters across the Line of Control.”
He further asserted that any Indian violation of the Line of Control (LoC) would entitle Pakistan to respond according to the UN Charter, adding, “India won’t dare.”
On India’s alleged diversion of water from rivers Poonch and Neelum, Haq described these actions as part of a larger strategy to undermine Pakistan. “These are part of India’s broader designs against Pakistan,” he said.
Concluding, Haq reminded that Pakistan is a nuclear power and that no nation, including India, has the courage to violate its borders. “We are always ready to respond,” he added.
