Infant dies, seven others injured in collision with water tanker in Karachi

KARACHI: An 18-month-old child was killed, and seven others, including six women, were injured in a collision between a water tanker and a minivan near Al-Jannat wedding hall in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Steel Town, on Wednesday.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transferred the victims to Jinnah Hospital. The child who died in the crash was identified as Sahil. The injured individuals, including Asif, Bakhtawar, Erum, Aziza, Kamala, Sakina, and Naeema, were also taken to the hospital. The police have seized both the water tanker and the minivan, and the drivers have been detained.

Authorities believe the incident occurred due to speeding, and an investigation is underway.

In a separate incident, two young men, Ismail (18) and Abdul Rahim (17), were seriously injured when a pickup truck collided with their motorcycle in Orangi Town. Meanwhile, a 30-year-old motorcyclist, Abdul Samad, was critically hurt in a collision with a truck near the Lakhi Chuhar Toll Plaza.
