- Punjab CM visits Gujranwala, Sambrial, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Ghakkar Mandi and other cities and inspects overall conditions of roads
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid surprise visits to different cities along GT Road on Friday. She observed overall cleanliness situation in Sambrial, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Ghakkar Mandi and other cities. She reviewed cleanliness arrangements in these cities under ‘Suthra Punjab’ program. She also inspected overall conditions of the roads.
The Chief Minister monitored steps being taken for anti-encroachment drive. She appreciated improved cleanliness situation under ‘Suthra Punjab’ program and directed the relevant departments to further improve cleanliness arrangements their respective cities and areas. She said, “Ensuring cleanliness in cities and villages across Punjab is the foremost responsibility of the government. The citizens should assist and facilitate the government in keeping the cities, streets and bazaars neat and clean.”
CM Surprise Gujranwala Visit to Monitor Pace of Development Projects
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid a surprise visit to Gujranwala. She went around various areas of Gujranwala city and areas adjacent to GT Road. She also visited Kharadan Bazaar, Gondlanwala Bazaar, Degi Bazaar, Chowk Farooq-e-Azam and other markets where she mingled with the shopkeepers and citizens present over there. Citizens of Gujranwala were pleasantly surprised to see Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz among them.
A shopkeeper while expressing his impressions said, “It is a matter of great joy to see our leader at my own shop.” The Chief Minister inquired from the citizens about the cleanliness arrangements. She reviewed ongoing construction, rehabilitation of roads, traffic situation and anti-encroachment drive. She stopped her vehicle to buy vermicelli made from gram flour from a famous shop.
Visit Sambrial to Offer Fateha over sad demise of MPA Ch Arshad Javed Warraich
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the residence of late MPA Chaudhry Arshad Javed Warraich in Sambrial. She offered condolences to his daughters – Hina Arshad Warraich and Zeena Mustafa Warraich and offered Fateha for the eternal peace of late Arshad Javed Warraich.
Speaking on the occasion, the Punjab chief minister said, “Late Ch Arshad Warraich was a noble politician. His political and social services will be remembered for a long time.” Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Member of the Provincial Assembly Manshaullah Butt and the Chief Secretary were also present on the occasion.
CM’s Message on World Malaria Day
Malaria is a dangerous but treatable disease, we must unite to eradicate it, said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in her message on World Malaria Day. She reiterated her pledge that elimination of malaria and ensuring the creation of a healthy society are among top priorities of Punjab government. She highlighted, “the Punjab government is implementing a modern strategy to control malaria.”
The Punjab CM said, “Punjab government has allocated special funds for the prevention of malaria.” She added, “Anti-malaria spray campaigns, free tests and treatment facilities are being provided in every district of Punjab.”
CM Maryam Nawaz said, “Timely medical assistance is being provided in malaria hotspots.” She added, “People should take precautionary measures to eradicate malaria, cover clean water and use mosquito nets.” She underscored, “Every child, every mother, every family of Punjab is our priority, and their protection is our mission.”
