SWAT: A bloody clash broke out during the shutter-down strike called to express solidarity with Palestinians in Shangla district, resulting in the death of Koza Alpuri Bazaar President Adalat Khan, while his two sons were injured.
According to Shangla DPO Shah Hassan Khan, the altercation began when shopkeepers Amjad Ali and Rashid Ali kept their shops opened during the strike. Market President Adalat Khan and owner asked them to close their shops, leading to a heated argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the clash, Amjad Ali and Rashid Ali attacked Adalat Khan, striking him on the head, leaving him critically injured and he later succumbed to his injuries.
Salman Khan and Farman Khan, sons of the deceased, were also injured during the incident and were immediately shifted to Alpuri Hospital for treatment.
Shangla DPO Shah Hassan Khan stated that police took swift action following the incident and arrested the accused after registration of a case.
He stated that strict action would be taken against those who take the law into their own hands and assured that justice would be provided to the affected family.
Following the incident, tension gripped Koza Alpuri Bazaar and surrounding areas. However, police have intensified patrolling to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, local political and social circles strongly condemned the killing of Adalat Khan, demanding exemplary punishment for the accused.
