ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad extended the bail of former first lady Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, on Monday in connection with two cases related to the November 26 protests.
The hearing, conducted by Judge Abusl-Hasanat Zulqarnain, saw Bushra Bibi’s lawyers, Ansar Kiyani and Shamsa Kiyani, submit a request for exemption from her appearance in court. While granting the extension of bail, the court also instructed that Bushra Bibi must be included in the ongoing investigation.
The cases, which were registered at the Secretariat Police Station and Karachi Company Police Station, stem from her alleged involvement in the protests on November 26. The court adjourned the hearing until June 11, allowing additional time for the investigation.
Bushra Bibi has faced legal challenges following the protests, with multiple cases being registered against her and other PTI leaders in connection with political unrest and the subsequent actions taken by law enforcement agencies.
