HYDERABAD: A four-year-old girl died of measles this week in Qadir Bux Solangi village near Husri town, raising the death toll to 13 children across three villages in Hyderabad division. The latest victim, Fiza, had been battling the disease for a week before succumbing to complications.
Residents reported that five children have died in Qadir Bux Solangi village over the past five days, while many others remain critically ill. Villagers blamed government negligence, stating that no vaccination teams visited the area before the outbreak and the response only came after deaths were highlighted on social media.
Earlier, four deaths were reported in Goth Allah Bux Brohi and six in Goth Bachal Shoro due to the same outbreak. Villagers have appealed to the Chief Minister of Sindh and Chief Secretary to urgently launch an emergency vaccination drive across affected areas.
