China fully supports Pakistan’s bid of BRICS membership: says IDCPC spokesman

ISLAMABAD: Director-General Information of the International Department of Communist Party of China (IDCPC) Mr Hu Zhaoming on Tuesday said that China fully supports Pakistan’s bid to membership of BRICS and Chinese government is making efforts to help Pakistan become a member of BRICS.
“It is time to coordinate better in BRICS to protect the interests of the developing nations.  We support sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan. We will continue to cooperate with Pakistan to meet the challenges it is faced with,” said Hu Zhaoming who is also official spokesman of the IDCPC during an exclusive interaction with a select group of Pakistani media here at the Chinese Embassy.
Mr Hu who is the first IDCPC spokesman to visit Pakistan, said that the visits of the top cadre of the CPC to Pakistan reflect that Chinese nation is very satisfied on the state of relationship with Pakistan.
“China, Pakistan relationship has strong public support in both countries. This is a unique character of China, Pakistan relationship. We can count on Pakistan’s support to China on all issues. We are confident on future of our bilateral ties. Some countries may not want to see this friendship growing but we will continue our march on path of cooperation. We have enough wisdom on overcoming all challenges and move on path of development together,” he said.
He said China and Pakistan should not be satisfied what we have achieved and we continue to strive to further develop this bond of all weather strategic partnership.
“We need to develop more secure environment to further cement this relationship. Without development, stability and reforms no nation can develop. We also hope that our cooperation can benefit more in further cementing China, Pakistan friendship. China, Pakistan cooperation should have more support from our people,” he said.
On media cooperation, Mr Hu Zhaoming said that China, Pakistan friendship needs more support from media of both the countries. It is very important for our media to cooperate and we want real and objective input on China, Pakistan friendship, he added.
“Younger generation is living in the age of new media. In order to connect with youth, we need to focus on new media. We welcome more influencers from Pakistani new media to contribute in cementing China, Pakistan relationship. We hope that Pakistani media could also promote China in Urdu and Chinese languages,” he asserted.
Mr Hu Zhaoming said that China is ready to cooperate with Pakistani government to identity social media accounts operating from enemy states with nefarious designs by identifying their internet IPs.
“We have a regulation to help identify IPs. China can also share its experience in poverty alleviation with Pakistan. We encourage young Pakistani politicians to visit China and see how they can learn more from China’s experience in good governance,” he added.
The IDCPC spokesman said that China supports Pakistan in keeping good relations with other countries and we think it is in interest of Pakistan and China.
“We are against forcing independent countries to use against China’s core issues. We have good ties with Russia but we never used Russia to act against a third country,” he added.
The IDCPC leader said that the CPC keeps good relations with all the political parties in Pakistan. He said there were fewer exchanges in past few years due to Covid-19 but it is time to accelerate these exchanges now. We also have invited some politicians to visit China to understand China’s development and governance, he added.
“Western countries are still playing a dominant role on global stage but developing countries have a major role to play in future and we need to cooperate more to better safeguard the interest of the developing nations,” he concluded.
