Plastic import increases 3.32pc 4MFY21

ISLAMABAD: The import of plastic material witnessed an increase of 13.32 per cent during the first four months (July-Oct) of the current financial year (FY21) as compared to the corresponding period of last year.

According to details, Pakistan imported plastic worth $701.579 million in July-Oct FY21 as compared to the imports of $619.097 million in July-Oct FY20, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday.

Meanwhile, plastic imports also increased 18.70pc from $182.686m on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in October 2020, as compared to imports of $153.913m in October 2019.

However, on a monthly basis (MoM), imports declined by 3.03pc in October 2020 when compared to the imports of $188.400m in September 2020.
