FAISALABAD: The government is making efforts to develop the information technology (IT) infrastructure in Pakistan and in this connection, basic and fundamental structure is being provided to IT companies, said Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) Senior Manager Infrastructure Muhammad Akbar.
In a meeting with Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Hafiz Ihtesham Javed on Saturday, Akbar stressed that the infrastructure would help the educated youth of Pakistan to develop and export software to the growing global markets.
He said his company was presently running 14 software technology parks while in the next phase, 40 more parks are planned to be established in different cities, including Faisalabad.
He gave details regarding the performance of the 14 functioning software technology parks in Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi.
Akbar said that Faisalabad possessed immense potential to develop a full-fledged IT industry, adding that the IT ministry was streamlining its policies to further develop this sector at the grassroots level.
“It will also be used to create employment opportunities in the country,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, the FCCI president appreciated the efforts of the government to develop the IT sector and pointed out that the FCCI had allocated a floor in its complex for establishment of Techno Park.
