PM Imran to visit Saudi Arabia near Eid, says Saudi envoy

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Saeed Al-Maliki on Monday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will soon be visiting Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and hold meetings with top Saudi officials.
The ambassador said that the prime minister will undertake an official visit to Saudi Arabia before or immediately after Eidul Fitr and meet the Saudi monarch. He will also hold meetings with other top Saudi officials, he added.
It merits mention that Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry had also said in a weekly press briefing on Friday that the Saudi crown prince held a telephonic conversation. Chaudhry said that the Saudi crown prince also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Imran to visit Saudi Arabia. He said that the premier had accepted the crown prince’s invitation to visit Saudi Arabia.
During the conversation, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) had expressed a partnering interest in the Billion Tree Tsunami project as the two states’ heads discussed environmental protection bids.
The crown prince had also enquired about the health of PM Imran and pledged to work in coordinated efforts towards the shared goal of protecting the environment, confirmed Special Assistant to PM on Environment and Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam.
The two country leaders further discussed the regional matters and furthering of bilateral projects both present and prospected.
On the other hand, the federal government has taken action against Pakistani diplomats stationed in Saudi Arabia over complaints by Pakistani expats and recalled its diplomats from Saudi Arabia.
According to the details, the government took strict action after receiving complaints against Pakistani diplomats stationed in Saudi Arabia. In this regard, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that the diplomats have been repatriated after complaints from Pakistani nationals residing in Saudi Arabia.
He said that the under-question Pakistani officials in Dubai, United Arab Emirates have been recalled. The foreign minister announced that if complaints are received from any other country, the diplomats will be repatriated.
