Education board chairpersons in Sindh have written to the government, sharing their concerns over the lack of funds and how this would interfere in the smooth conduction of matric and intermediate exams in the province.
The letter issued by the chairpersons asked for a further grant of Rs3 million.
The chairpersons lamented that the Sindh government is not paying the grants, citing this as the reason why the salaries of employees are pending. The letter added that there would be many hindrances in conducting the exams without the funds.
Moreover, the chairperson of the education board in Sukkur outright said that without the aforementioned funds, the exams would be conducted on the basis of “begging”.
The Hyderabad board’s head said teachers are not ready to work with the board due to non-payment.
The board heads said the government did not revert back to them despite several attempts made for contact.
