ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar on Tuesday said that 0.25 million people were administered coronavirus vaccine shots the previous day, a daily record according to government figures.
The minister, who also heads the National Command and Operation Centre, put the number of inoculations at 267,953.
In a tweet, he also urged all those who have signed up for the vaccination drive to visit their nearest point to receive the jabs. Those who are awaiting the second dose should ensure timely visits, he said.

Pakistan registered 2,253 new infections of Covid-19 after testing 46,726 samples, receiving back a positivity rate of 4.82 percent. With the new cases, confirmed infections climbed to 905,852.
Meanwhile, deaths increased by 92 to 20,400. Recoveries increased by 2,783 to 823,157, or 90.9 percent of total infections.
The health department has so far tested 12,884,544 samples for coronavirus, with 46,726 in the last 24 hours.
There are currently 62,295 active cases of Covid-19 nationwide, with 4,723 of them in critical care units.
Punjab has reported 335,577 confirmed cases, the highest in the country, followed by Sindh which has 310,557 positive cases, an NCOC statement said.
Sindh government has imposed restrictions on different sections of life, including limited business hours and a ban on unnecessary movement after 8:00 pm starting Tuesday (today) after a rise in the active cases.
The government on Monday announced not to promote students to the next grades without exams as they did last year. A meeting also decided to start examinations in educational institutes from June 20 under strict measures.
PUNJAB TO VACCINATE MEDICAL STUDENTS:
Meanwhile, the Punjab government decided to vaccinate students of medical colleges and universities against coronavirus to ensure frontline individuals at risk of getting infected have protection against it.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid. The meeting also discussed a possible move to vaccinate people employed in some 30 professions where the danger of contracting the virus is high.
Dr Yasmin said the provincial government was increasing vaccinations throughout the province, adding that data was being collected to enhance the scope of the vaccinations.
