LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar directed to remove 15 officers from their posts over negligence in duties, public complaints and poor performance during his visit to Sambrial and Sialkot on Thursday.
The CM visited various government offices responsible for providing services to the people to review their performance.
On his directions, AC Sambrial, XEN (Irrigation) Marala, DSP Daska and DSP Traffic Sialkot were removed from their posts. Sambrial’s Chief Officer Municipal Corporation, MS THQ Hospital, AD Land Record and Sialkot’s CO Tehsil Cooperation, Excise and Taxation Officer, DHO, Superintendent District Jail Sialkot, Assistant Superintendent Women District Jail Sialkot, CO MC Pasror, CO MC Daska, Sub Registrar (Rural) and District Health Officer were also suspended.
Buzdar approved repair of Sambrial road and carpeting of 12-km sub-line from Sialkot to Sambrial road. During his visit to THQ Hospital Sambrial, he directed to improve the medical facilities. He said a new road would be constructed for THQ Hospital Sambrial and for this purpose, he directed the DC Sialkot to complete the land acquisition work.
Daska-Sambrial road’s construction and improvement funds would be provided and Shahab Pura bridge would also be completed, the CM said. He announced to release 20 crore rupees for the construction of the bridge and directed MD NESPAK to complete the project on priority basis.
During his visit to district jail Sialkot, the CM reprimanded the superintendent and assistant superintendent over mismanagement in the jail and directed to improve the facilities for inmates.
Buzdar ordered to launch a massive operation against encroachments. He also directed to clean drains and asked to bring transparency in property tax matters of excise and taxation department. He also appointed the secretary excise and taxation as inquiry officer to probe the property tax matters.
The chief minister met with the people present in the DC office and directed to resolve their issues immediately. The CM directed to improve law and order situation in Sialkot and complete the development projects within the stipulated time period.
Provincial Minsters Muhammad Akhlaq and Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan, and Member Provincial Assembly Ahsan Saleem Bariyal were also present on this occasion.
Buzdar also visited model police station Sambrial and inspected the front desk and women help counter. He also inspected the lockup of the police station and inquired about the problems of the detained persons.
The CM said that he has started surprise visits of different districts and tehsils and he would resolve the problems of the people at their doorstep.
Meanwhile, Buzdar sought a report from RPO Faisalabad regarding the firing incident in Jaranwala court and directed to take stern legal action against the arrested accused.
