PML-N MPA Bilal Yasin injured in firing incident

Shehbaz, Maryam urge people to pray for lawmaker

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and MPA Bilal Yasin sustained bullet injuries after two unidentified men opened fire at him in Lahore on Friday.

According to the police, Bilal was on his way when some unidentified men, riding a motorcycle, opened fire at him. Resultantly, he received two bullets, one in the stomach and other in the leg.

He was shifted to Lahore’s Mayo Hospital for medical treatment.

Separately, PML-N MPA Khawaja Imran Nazeer told a news outlet that Bilal was visiting a PML-N worker Mian Ikram Kami’s house to attend a meeting of party workers.

Two unidentified men opened fire on him outside Kami’s residence as a result of which Bilal sustained wounds in the abdomen and one of his legs, Imran added.

Later, Mayo Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Iftikhar Qureshi said Yasin is under treatment and his condition is out of danger.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and ordered the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore to submit a report and arrest the culprits at the earliest.

He also directed to provide best medical treatment to the injured.

Terming the incident an act of “terrorism”, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif said that he is worried for the life of the MPA. “May God give him health. I urge party workers and the entire nation to pray for his swift recovery,” he added.

In a tweet, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said Yasin is now “out of danger”. She asked people to pray for the MPA.

Bilal was elected to the Punjab Assembly from PP-150 in 2018.
