Police recover vehicle owned by Saudi-bound family

The police have been successful in recovering the vehicle owned by a Saudi-bound family that went missing in Punjab’s Sarai Alamgir, last month.

According to details, the five-member family included two boys — 14 and six years old — two daughters — 13 and nine years old — and their mother had returned from Saudi Arabia a few weeks before their alleged abduction, and their mysterious disappearance occurred a day before their returning flight.

The mother, a resident of Sarai Alamgir’s remote area of Farooq Town, reportedly went shopping along with her children but mysteriously disappeared on her way home, police said, suspecting abduction.

As investigation inched forward, police made a breakthrough on Monday by recovering their car that was found in a parking spot of an apartment in a private housing society. The number plate of the car was covered, said police, adding that they will use CCTV cameras to find the missing family.

Regarding the apartment, the police stated it was too early to comment on whether or not the family was taken to the apartment.

According to details, the police had registered a case against a suspected kidnapper at the complaint of the husband, while further investigation was underway.
