ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday reserved its verdict on the maintainability of a petition filed against the security detail sought by retired chief justice Gulzar Ahmed.
The petitioner, Riaz Hanif Rahi, appeared in the court and requested the transfer of the case to a different bench.
However, Chief Justice Athar Minallah told him the petitioner could not get a bench of their choice.
“Which bench will hear your petition is the court’s discretion, not yours. You better start giving arguments on the merits of the case,” he said.
The petitioner said he had no further arguments to offer in the case, and requested the court to give whatever order it deemed appropriate.
