Former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has assured JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman of his complete support for the opposition’s no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Geo News reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, Zardari met with Fazl on Monday to devise a strategy to oust the incumbent government.
This was the first face-to-face meeting between both leaders since last April.
The report further said that during the meeting, both leaders discussed different options for the success of the no-trust move against the prime minister and also decided to take the estranged PTI leaders into confidence.
They also discussed the issues between PDM and PPP that had emerged last year over the issue of resignations from the parliament.
They took each other into confidence regarding meetings with the government’s allies and discussed contacts with Jahangir Tareen group to muster support against the government.
Zardari assured Fazl of his complete support, saying that the PPP would remain at the forefront of the no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Moreover, the opposition’s long march was also discussed during the meeting.
