A court in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members and workers accused of being involved in the attack on Singh House, a news outlet reported on Wednesday.
Earlier on March 18, PTI lawmakers – Faheem Khan and Ataullah – and workers had stormed the Sindh House in the federal capital in protest against the dissident members of the ruling party, who were staying inside the building..
The police in the federal capital had registered an FIR against the PTI workers for violating Section 144 imposed in the capital and also included sections for vandalising government property.
However, the workers who were involved in the incident were released on personal assurance, on March 20.
A day earlier, Islamabad police had filed a petition in the Supreme Court requesting the cancellation of bails granted to the accused involved in the attack. The federal police had also submitted a report on the case before the apex court.
“Non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued for PTI MNAs involved in the attack on Sindh House,” Advocate General (AG) Islamabad had said.
“The National Assembly is in session and both the members will be arrested. PTI worker Tauseef Khan had been arrested again. Some of the accused belong to KP and Sindh.”
