Shortly after assuming charge of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Saturday issued directives for setting up an inquiry commission to investigate the “foreign conspiracy” that Prime Minister Imran Khan alleges has been hatched against his government and is powering the opposition’s no-confidence move.
The commission would look into various matters, including “changing of the government through an international conspiracy and the no-trust resolution”.
The commission would hold thorough investigations into the global conspiracy and compile its report.
The federal law minister also issued orders to replace dozens of legal officers in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, and directed all officers of the Ministry of Law and Justice to perform their duties in an efficient manner.
Cancellation of bails of Shehbaz, Hamza:
Meanwhile, Fawad also issued directives to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for the cancellation of bails of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz in the money laundering case.
After receiving the new directives, the FIA initiated its work and filed an application in the court of FIA special judge central in this regard.
The court issued notices on the application and summoned Shehbaz Sharif’s lawyers on April 4 for arguments.
Fawad also tweeted to “congratulate” the nation after the petition was fixed by the court for hearing on Monday.
Earlier, the court had extended the interim bails of Shehbaz and Hamza in the case until April 4.
