Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja’s proposal to hold a quadrangular series on an annual basis remains under consideration as leading stakeholders are yet to provide the International Cricket Council (ICC) with the required feedback.
Despite the official handout issued at the end of the ICC Board’s meeting on Sunday having no mention of Raja’s proposal, well-placed sources said that it garnered a “positive response” from majority of the ICC members.
However, as the members believed that the proposal required further deliberation, no concrete decision could be made.
“Once you submit a proposal, it goes through further discussion before something comes up for approval or rejection. No decision has so far been made on the proposal as it will go through further deliberations,” a source said.
He stated that representatives from Cricket Australia, West Indies and England liked the proposal at the meeting.
“Hopefully, the ICC member countries will come up with concrete answers on the proposal at the next meeting,” he added.
