Blasphemous remarks reflect growing Islamophobia under Modi regime

ISLAMABAD: Sacrilegious remarks by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal reflect the growing anti-Muslim sentiment in India under fascist Modi regime.

Anti-Muslim hatred is stoked as part of official policy of the BJP-led regime as it has touched new heights in Modi’s India, said a report released by the KMS, today.

It said Modi is a trained fanatic of RSS, a fascist outfit of Hindu zealots that have for decades terrorized Muslims in India and Hindutva ideology peddled by Modi and his ilk want an India in which there is no room for Muslims. Even before Modi became Indian Prime Minister in 2014, he had gained notoriety as an anti-Muslim bigot, it added.

The report said the BJP leaders’ disrespectful remarks against the Prophet (PBUH) have further exposed the so-called secular face of India, adding the blasphemous statements by the BJP stalwarts, Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal aren’t isolated incidents.

It lamented that the Hindu fascists had repeatedly perpetrated massacres of Muslims and now the BJP and RSS leaders were openly hurting religious sentiments of Muslims.

The report maintained that hostility against Muslims was ingrained in the followers of BJP and RSS and Modi must remember that insults to the Prophet (PBUH) are unacceptable and would not be tolerated, at any cost.
