Former Pakistan Test cricketer, Mohammad Ramzan was appointed as China men’s cricket team Head Coach but still hasn’t had the opportunity to guide the players.
All cricketing activities in China have been halted ever since Covid-19 pandemic took over. Ramzan was appointed back in 2019 but still hasn’t been given the opportunity to coach yet.
Speaking about the situation, Ramzan said that he hasn’t received any response from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) or China cricket.
According to details, Mohammad Ramzan, who represented Pakistan in a Test, also served as the Afghan team’s deputy coach and fielding coach a few years ago. He has been busy as a selector in Peshawar Zalmi’s overseas trials in the UK recently.
In an interview with the Cricket Pakistan from Glascow, he said that all activities in China had been suspended due to the coup.
“Cricket is one of them, although conditions around the world have improved, but China is extremely cautious,” said Ramzan.
“I tried several times to get information from the PCB and the China Cricket Association but got no response. If I had the opportunity to work in China, I would try my best to find talent there and hone it,” he added.
Ramzan added that he is currently looking at coaching opportunities in KPL and PSL.
“However, the situation is not clear yet, so I am now looking at coaching options in KPL and PSL. I will try my best wherever I can,” he further added.
