LAHORE: Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan will hold five public meetings in Karachi ahead of the second phase of local government elections in Sindh scheduled for July 24.
According to the details of his campaign, Khan will begin his tour on July 21 when he will address rallies in Hyderabad and Karachi.
During his stay there, the former prime minister will also meet members of the business community and prominent journalists based in and out of Karachi.
Other political parties — including the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movemnet-Pakistan (MQM-P) and Jamaat-i-Islami — have also launched their elections campaigns in the city.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Sindh government have sought the deployment of the Pakistan Army and Rangers during the polls to ensure a transparent and peaceful election.
Khan concluded on Friday his whirlwind election campaign for by-polls in 20 constituencies of the Punjab Assembly.
