Mazari assures all-out support to PTF for holding Asian C’ships

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ehsanur Rehman Mazari congratulated the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) for Asian Championships and assured his all-out support for the smooth conduct of the mega events.

“I also congratulate the National Federation for winning the bid to host 4 Combaxx Asian Taekwondo Open Championship in November this year and 5th Asian Open Taekwondo Championship in year 2023. I as a Minister of IPC will give full support to PTF for the smooth conduct of this championship and I myself will monitor this event in Liaquat Gymnasium PSB Islamabad. The event will definitely create a milestone in the sports of Pakistan and surely other federations will follow the footsteps,” he said while speaking as chief guest at the opening ceremony of 15th Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2022 at Shahbaz Shareef Sports Complex, Rawalpindi on late Saturday.

He said it was a pleasure for him to open the Championship. “I am pleased to see the extraordinary arrangements which have been done by Pakistan Taekwondo for this event. Indeed, Taekwondo Federation has done a lot for the promotion and development of Taekwondo which is an Olympic and Korean National Sport.

The minister said the number of participation of National Taekwondo Team in International Competitions shows the hard work and dedication of the Federation which was improving Taekwondo in Pakistan.

“I would like to pay my gratitude for getting Two Bronze Medals during recently conducted 25th Asian Taekwondo Kyorugi Championship in June 2022, South Korea which is a great achievement of federation and I am sure they will also do well in upcoming South Asian Games and Islamic Games. “I have also briefed by the federation stake holders the role of Korean Embassy and Government of Korea for their untiring efforts to promote Olympic Martial Arts.

Mazari also thanked the role being played by District Government as well as media for highlighting the said championship. “My sincere wishes are with all the Athletes and I hope they win laurels for the country and keep Pakistan’s flag high. Suh Sangpyo Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Islamabad, Dignitaries of the Embassies, PTF President Waseem Ahmed and other officials were also present on the occasion.
