UAE President phones PM Shehbaz; assures all-out support for flood victims

KARACHI: President of United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed called  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday and assured his full assistance to alleviate the sufferings of flood victims in Pakistan.

He also conveyed his condolences over the loss of precious lives due to torrential rains and flash floods. In exchange, Prime Minster Shehbaz Sharif thanked the UAE President for the rapid relief and humanitarian aid that His Highness offered for Pakistan.

During the conversation, Sheikh Mohamed emphasised the UAE’s solidarity with the government and people of Pakistan in facing the repercussions of these difficult climatic conditions and its keenness to provide all possible forms of support to it.

The purpose of UAE aid is to increase international peace development and stability, while guaranteeing improvements in the living standards of individuals regardless of their religion, language, identity, and race. UAE Aid is continually provided to ensure the establishment of an effective better living for the humanity.

In addition to tents and shelter materials, the UAE relief aid consists of 3,000 tons of food, medical and pharmaceutical supplies. Furthermore, the UAE aid teams will provide humanitarian assistance to Pakistani institutions and cadres responsible for ensuring the safety of the victims and satisfying their dietary, medical, and logistical needs.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed wished a speedy recovery for the injured and quick return of the displaced to their areas, praying to Allah Almighty to protect Pakistan.
