ISLAMABAD: Noted politician, columnist, journalist and former Director General Public Relations (DGPR) Aiwan-e-Sadr Mr Qaswar Saeed Mirza passed away in Lahore after a brief illness on Wednesday.
Qaswar Mirza was under treatment after suffering from paralytic distortion at his face around a week back. He suddenly suffered brain hamorrhage in the wee hours of Tuesday that left half of his body under paralysis that left 40 per cent of his brain dysfunctional. He was rushed to a hospital where he breathed his last Wednesday evening.
Late Qaswar Saeed Mirza was among top political analysts and had exceptional command on Islamic teachings and history. Initially, he worked closely with PPP’s former chairwoman Benazir Bhutto and later joined former President Sardar Farooq Leghari. He had very good communication skills and was well versed with all top politicians and tribal chieftains.
He was a close comrade of former Chairman Senate Mohammedmian Soomro, MNA Mian Riaz Pirzada, Punjab Minister Hussain Jehania Gardezi, former Punjab Minister Malik Abdul Qayyum, former chief minister Punjab Mian Afzal Hayat and many others. Â
Born in 1951 in Shujabad, Late Mirza received his early education at his hometown and completed Masters degree in Arts. He worked as DGPR Aiwan-e-Sadr from 1993 to 1997 when Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari was the President of Pakistan. Later, he was appointed political secretary of later Farooq Leghari. Â
Namaz-e-Janaza of the departed soul will be held at Janaza Gah high school in Shujabad after Zohr prayers today (Thursday).
