Daily coronavirus cases fall below 50 in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The everyday number of coronavirus infections in Pakistan has dropped to below 50 as the country reported 47 more coronavirus infections and no fatality during the last 24 hours with infectivity ratio dropping to 0.38 percent, showed the statistics released by the National Institute of Health (NIH) on Sunday morning.

According to NIH data, the death toll in the country remained the same at
30,612 while the number of total infections now stood at 1,572,316 after
adding the fresh 47 cases.

During the last 24 hours (Saturday), 12,369 tests were conducted throughout
Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio stood at 0.38 percent. The number of
patients in critical care was recorded at 73.

India reports 4,777 fresh Covid infections, 23 deaths

India on Sunday reported 4,777 fresh Covid infections in the last 24 hours,
against 4,912 Covid cases reported on previous day, said the Health
Ministry.

In the same period, the country has recorded 23 more Covid-related deaths,
taking the national fatalities tally to 5,28,510 as per the report.

Meanwhile, the active caseload of the country presently stands at 43,994
cases, accounting for 0.10 percent of the country’s total positive cases.

The recovery of 5,196 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative
tally to 4,39,95,610. Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.72
per cent.

Meanwhile, India’s daily positivity rate has been reported to be 1.58
percent, while the weekly positivity rate in the country currently also
stands at 1.63 percent.

Also in the same period, a total of 3,02,283 tests were conducted across the
country, increasing the overall tally to over 89.36 crore.

As of Sunday morning, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 217.56
crore. Over 4.09 crore adolescents have been administered with a first dose
of Covid-19 jab since the beginning of vaccination drive for this age
bracket.
