PM reaffirms support for two-state solution in Palestine

ISLAMABAD: Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support to Palestine, as the world marked the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and called on the global community to recognise their aspirations for self-determination and sovereignty.

In a tweet, the prime minister said the day highlighted the sufferings the nation of Palestine has endured under the illegal occupation of Israel.

He said the unresolved dispute is not just a moral question, but an issue that has implications for global peace. He said Pakistan supported a two-state solution as per the UN resolution.

Taking place on November 29 every year, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is not only an opportunity for parties to express their concern for the plight of the Palestinians, but also an opportunity for the international community to assess progress in resolving the Palestinian question.
