PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government identified 675 development projects as priority projects and directed administrative departments to complete them on priority basis.
The government has directed concerned departments to focus on the completion of these projects on time and it was assured that Rs78.2 billion, required for these projects will also been provided.
According to provincial planing and development department, the annual development program of 2022-23 includes 2,239 development projects, including 1,710 ongoing and 529 new projects. But of these projects, 675 priority projects have been separated and authorities have been directed to ensure completion of the projects in the current financial year.
These projects include 124 for road construction, 67 of multi-sector development program, 56 of sports, tourism and culture, 48 of health department, 44 of agriculture department, 43 of irrigation, 40 of drainage, 30 of rehabilitation and resettlement, energy and electronics, 25 of the higher education department, 24 of primary and secondary education, 22 of local government and rural development, 18 of Interior department, 14 of the department of Auqaf, Hajj, religious and minority affairs are included.
The priority projects also include, 11 projects of social welfare, seven of urban development, six of industry, six of Board of Revenue, Establishment and Administration, Excise and Taxation, law and parliamentary affairs and welfare of population, four projects each of environment, finance, housing, information and public relations, labor and science and information technology, three of minerals department, two of public-private partnership and one project of transport department.
