Robbers take away Rs20m valuables in Morgah bungalow heist

RAWALPINDI: Three armed robbers barged into a house in Morgah area of the garrison city and made off with valuables including foreign and local currency and gold ornaments worth amounting to Rs20 million.

According to the Rawalpindi Police spokesperson, the robbers barged into the house, held the family members hostage and locked them in a room at gunpoint. The accused searched the house for valuables including Rs7.5 million, 9,000 Euros, 500 Dollars and 80 tolas of gold ornaments and made off with the loot.

The police spokesperson said they also took passports, and a 9 mm pistol with them.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari took notice of the incident and directed the police to trace the accused and recover the stolen goods.

However, the police team reached the spot on the information of the incident.

SSP Operations and other officers inspected the spot and instructed the investigation team. Forensic teams collected evidence from the scene and started working on technical evidence and human intelligence.

The accused would be arrested and brought to justice, said SSP Operations Wasim Riaz Khan.
