UoS gets NoC to launch MPhil, PhD programs in Microbiology, Biotech

SWAT: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has granted NoC to the University of Swat (UoS) for launching MPhil and PhD programmes in Microbiology and Biotechnology.

According to UoS Spokesman Rafiullah, it is the 9th department of the university, which received NoC for launching MPhil and PhD programs.

Earlier, the Department of Economics, Zoology, Forestry, Physics, Chemistry, Islamic Studies, Environmental Sciences and Management Sciences have already received NoCs for either MPhil, PhD or both disciplines during the tenure of the incumbent Vice Chancellor, the spokesperson informed.

On the occasion Prof Dr Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor UoS, congratulated the faculty of the Centre of Biotechnology and Microbiology and informed that admissions will be offered from the next month in all the departments having NoCs for launching MPhil and PhD programs.

He said that the departments, already offering MPhil/PhD, will also announce new admissions from January 2023.

The VC further added that the University of Swat was a real blessing of Allah for the students and public of the area, especially in the field of higher education. “The students of Swat and adjoining areas now have the facilities of higher education at their doorstep,” he said, adding that they were striving to develop research culture through these higher degrees and scholars of the university will soon produce quality results in the field of research.
