- Asad vows PTI ready to inflict crushing defeat on cabal of thieves
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) hammered out a well-thought-out strategy to foil the imported government’s nefarious design to use the parliament forum undemocratically to delay the local government polls in the federal capital.
The well-crafted plan was finalized in a high level meeting of the party meeting held with PTI Central Secretary General Asad Umar in the chair here on Thursday.
In the meeting, they decided to approach the court immediately and formally instructed the party’s legal team to prepare a constitutional petition in this regard.
The PTI completed the planning to thwart the attempts of the federal government to escape from the elections.
During the meeting, they decided to file an application in the Islamabad High Court to become a party in the petition filed by PML-N seeking postponement of local body elections.
PTI Islamabad President Ali Awan, Raja Khurram Nawaz and Chief Election Management Cell Shahzad Gul along with legal team and media team representatives were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, they discussed the imported government’s attempt to use the parliament undemocratically after federal cabinet for their nefarious designs to delay the LG polls in Islamabad in detail.
Speaking on the occasion, Asad Umar stated that the PTI was fully prepared for local body elections to inflict a crushing defeat on the cabal of thieves.
He said: “We will not let the imported government run away from the LG polls and they would be taken to the people’s court in any case.”
Asad Umar expressed satisfaction over the PTI’s’ LG election campaign.
During the meeting, they opinioned that the attempts to amend the law was the reflection of the visible fear of looming defeat in the LG polls. However, the participants vowed that these cabal of thieves could not escape the imminent defeat come what may.
They criticized the imported government for its attempts to create unnecessary obstacles to deprive of people of their right to votes under the guise of legislation.
In the meeting, they analyzed the government’s efforts to amend the Local Government Act of Islamabad, the decisions of the Federal Cabinet and Election Commission of Pakistan.
They also reviewed that draft law to be presented by the Federal Cabinet in session of the National Assembly.
