APHC decries growing Indian state terrorism in IIOJK

ISLAMABAD: Convener of All-Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) Chapter, Mehmood Ahmed Sagharon Thursday expressed serious concern over the growing state terrorism by Indian troops in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).

Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, in a statement issued here, strongly condemned the killing of four more innocent Kashmiri youth by Indian soldiers in Jammu district, yesterday. The youth were martyred in a fake encounter when they were traveling in Sidhra area of the district.

He deplored that the Indian troops had martyred 10 innocent Kashmiris so far this month during their cordon and search operations, out of which seven Kashmiris were martyred during fake encounters or detention. He said during this period, 30 Kashmiris were arrested from different areas by the Indian forces and the officials of the Indian notorious National Investigative Agency (NIA), while 195 cordon and search operations and house raids were conducted.

The APHC-AJK Convener deplored that the Indian soldiers were continuing genocide of the Kashmiris to turn the Muslim-majority of territory into a minority. He said the continued killing of the innocent Kashmir youth is highly condemnable.

Mehmood Ahmed Saghar said India cannot change the internationally recognized disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir through its cruel tactics and urged India to abandon its oppressive policy towards Kashmir and give Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination.

He said the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs will not go waste, adding that peace could not be established in the region without a permanent solution to the lingering Kashmir dispute.

The APHC-AJK Convener demanded of the United Nations and international human rights organizations to take immediate notice of Indian atrocities in IIOJK and increase pressure on India to stop this series.

He also expressed grief and sorrow over the death of the mother of illegally detained APHC leader Abdus Samad Inqilabi in IIOJK.
